HK Cinema - 1970

A film that could not be more different than these kung-fu films is The Arch. Teo writes of it in a near reverential tone. It was directed by a woman, Tang Shuxuan, and it is considered a ground breaking film that partially led the way to the New wave films of the 1980’s and to the female directors who followed.

Teo writes "“There is a level of experimentation with impressive and expressive visual effects achieved by rhythmic editing, long dissolves and freeze frames”. Unfortunately, Tang, became disillusioned with the film industry and left after making only a few more films.

If anyone knows where I can locate a copy of this film, I'd greatly appreciate an e-mail.
