With a title like this, you might be expecting one of those cute Korean films like My Girlfriend is an Agent or My Wife is a Gangster. Uh-uh. For one thing it is Thai and secondly, there is nothing cute about the film. It is brutal, bloody, violent and tragic. It takes about a minute to realize that this is another thing altogether. An assassin film but with a big heart and a few twists. And a large body count. It wasn't at all what I was expecting, but I quickly adapted to it, not knowing where it was heading. For a Buddhist nation, Thailand has produced a large number of assassin films and some of the best physical action films over the past decade or two. This film is a fine fit. Two long bloody murderous action set pieces filled with gunfire, knife fights, explosives, hand to hand combat, stunts and incredible dexterity. I didn't know any of the cast, but Thailand keeps introducing new talent. And this being Thai. of course a transvestite killer.




In Dubai, a crime boss is in need of blood. But not any blood; it has to be a rare type. A contract is put out. Find a person with this blood type and bring them to me. They are called Hunters and in Vietnam they find a little girl who has it, kill her parents and drag her away. Her name is Lhan. But another group of killers show up and grab her, but fail to kill the Hunter. They take her home. A family of professional killers. The father, an uncle, two cousins, a doctor, a son and another young man that they grabbed years before. Should we take her blood now, the father asks the doctor. She is too young. It is safest in her body.



Years pass, the family cares for Lhan (Pimchanok Luevisadpaibul aka Baifern) like one of their own and she becomes very close to the son Pran (Tor Thanapob Leeratanakachorn aka Tor) but also to the boy grabbed M (Sivakorn Adulsuttikul). The two young men are training to become killers and Lhan watches and practices on her own. The one rule is that Lhan is not allowed to ever leave the house. Because Hunters are still after her. But Pran takes her out one night. How could it hurt. Well, in the world of movies, it always does. The Hunters gather for the kill. A huge shootout follows. We finally discover why they kept Lhan safe all these years. Later Lhan tells the family, teach me to kill. She is a natural. Keep it on till the end. One last surprise. It is directed by Taweewat Wantha who years ago directed the wonderful goofy zombie film, SARS Wars.
