Veronica has previously been raped by a couple of hoodlums and can no longer stand intimacy and Simon, who was a punk triad member, has been beaten so badly that he has become something of a mental & physical cripple, but is now a nice guy. The two find comfort in each other and develop a warm caring relationship that allows both to overcome to some degree their problems. But there are horrific complications that most viewers will see coming. That doesn’t dull the impact. The final scene played out over heartbreaking classical music is as searing and overpowering as anything in HK film.
