The first edition of this recent addition to the
HK cinema landscape consists of a series of interviews with an interesting
cross section of personalities from the HK movie industry. These interviews
were conducted by Miles Wood who displays a great knowledge of both the
present and the past of the film industry. I very much appreciated his
unobtrusive interviewing style. Nothing is more irritating than an interviewer
that thinks he is as important as the subject he is interviewing. Wood
asks simple questions and allows the subject to answer them fully .
Some of the interviewees included are Peter
Chan, Maggie Cheung, Lau Ching Wan, Clara Law, Simon Yam, Anthony Wong,
Gigi Leung and others. There are also a large amount of great black &
white photos.
Hopefully, this is only the first of many more
editions. How easy it will be to locate I don't know. This copy was found
in a comic book store in NYC.
