Wong Kar - Wai
edited by Daniele Riviere

Paperback - 125 pages - $35

It is perhaps not too surprising that the French have put together this book about Wong Kar-Wai. His work has been very much influenced by the French New Wave of the 1960's and the French show great respect in return. The book consists of four different articles that shed light on his films.

The first talks about similar themes that run through his films, the second on his use of music and the third a detailed discussion of all his films. In the fourth section Wong Kar Wai is interviewed. There are numerous pictures - b/w and color - throughout. The price tag makes this book really only for WKW fans, but for people like myself that admire his films, but don't completely understand them - this book is very valuable.
