Japanese TV Spiderman Film Review

I haven't bothered with the last few Marvel Spiderman movies. The Multiverse was the last straw. But I was happy to jump into this 24-minute episode of the Toei TV series that ran in 1978 for 41 episodes. Toei had a deal with Marvel. Based on this one episode it is amazing. Nothing like the dreadful American series in the 70s. Beautiful bright colors, amazing physical stunts, fab costumes, great wire work, dastardly villains, girls in bikinis, a giant robot and aliens.

Earth has been invaded by aliens. The Iron Cross Army with their beak like appearance and the alien with the head of a shark that shoots missiles out of its mouth. And a sexy female alien psychotic. Marvel released these at one point - in DVD format and on line, but since Disney took over I think they have disappeared. Though one would guess that pirated versions are out there. Not that I want to see all 41 episodes, but a few more would be fun. Oh, and as it turns out, there are a bunch of them on YouTube!
