We seem to be living in an age where every institution
that we once thought worthy has turned out to be filled with corruption and
venality whether religious, political, government, social or educational.
All speaking to the human condition. Most of these scandals revolve
around illegal sex or greed for money. Nobody trusts anything anymore coming
from the establishment or media. What happened in Ohio State is just one
of many cracks in our belief system.
This painful documentary explores the sexual
abuse committed by one doctor to over one thousand male athletes and students
over two decades, the willingness of those in authority to look the other
way over that time though fully knowing what was happening and the continuing
attempt by the university to stop lawsuits. It is a tale of the people in
power always defending themselves or their institutions.
The focus is primarily on the male wrestlers
who relate similar tales of this doctor - now dead - touching their genitals,
showering with them, getting erections and masturbating. It turns your stomach.
Since these stories started coming out after the Larry Nassar scandal with
gymnasts many on social media have said why didn't you just beat him up.
Because we were young, didn't know better, were worried about our scholarships
and were aware that everyone knew it was going on. One of those being Congressman
Jim Jordan who was the asst. wrestling coach at the time. Jordan is a scumbag.
Refuses to say he knew a thing. He knew. He did nothing. But neither did
an entire university. Tough to watch one person after another relate their
stories.
